Beauty From Ashes...............

I never thought there would be a time when He would really turn my ashes into beauty, I mean really what can you turn a pile of ashes into? Well you or I can not turn them into anything really, at least not by our might. But there is a God in heaven who wants the best for his children, he is the only one that can make anything out of ashes. Whether it be the ashes of our hopes and dreams, the ashes of our addictions, the ashes of our stubbornness, our wretchedness, For me my life had gone down in a HUGE fireball of flames...... Oh but Thank the Almighty Lord that it did, for I may not have had the opportunity to feel like I am feeling now. I am so humbled...............

Since my life changed so very drastically my prayer has been that when God finished preparing my soul mate and I finally met him that as I looked into his eyes I would recognize him, truly know him............ The book of Ruth has been my constant prayer, that the Lord would send me my kinsman redeemer, That he would see me first, and would find favor with me. God even gave me a Naomi, He truly is amazing and really hears the desires of our hearts, He really does know each hair on our head, once more he placed them on that head, He says in Isaiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you ............He knew me? He formed me? he loves me? How can that be? If he really knows me then should he really love me? oh I know he loves you and I can tell you all day long about how he loves you, all the while struggling to believe he loves me......So much to wrestle with, so much to carry........ until he sent him to me, My Boaz....... My kinsman redeemer..... My friend........... My breath.........My heart.

I have known him for awhile now, and have admired him greatly, He is a Beautiful Strong, Gentle, Tender man and I loved him from the start, not necessarily romantic, mostly because I thought he'd never see me, but my spirit loved his spirit immediately. This man can talk about God with a passion I have never seen. He has the most beautiful eyes, truly the window to his soul. He is of great worth, someone to be treasured, Someone I never thought I could treasure. Then one summer night God opened our eyes, and my life will never be the same again. I believe I never had a clue that a connection could be this strong, that someone would share my language, that there was someone that could see me straight through, that a hug would feel so safe, that a kiss could be so intoxicating, that a correction could be so loving. I never thought that I could be in "love" at all, much less have a better understanding of how God loves me because he sent this man to show me.

I will love him forever, I will protect him fiercely, I will hold up his arms when his sword is heavy, I will come along side him and work until he is finished, I will not leave him alone, I will love his babies and put them first above me, so that they will always know their father loves them, I will praise his good deeds and I will caution his not so good, I will pray for him without ceasing, I will pray and study with him, I will cook and clean for him. I will serve him as worship to My Heavanly Father. I will bear his burdens, I will weep when he weeps, I will laugh when he laughs and remain calm as he is calm, for he is truly of such worth and excellence!

And Because I LOVE HIM!

Where Has The Time Gone.......

These last 6 months have literally been CRAZY......... I have been sick with a aweful upper respiratory infection every 2 weeks for the last six months. The doctor says I need to turn my brain off......... ANY SUGGESTIONS????????

We moved to our new daycare and today was the GLORIOUS 1st day! Thank you Jesus! h found us a family of 400 to love and support us.

God has taken my ministry to the next level, I am ministering to so many different situations, i got to pray with a homeless man the other day, such an Honor, I am spending more time with the children from the daycare and Oh Lord! I love them, I have a 2nd job and it's amazing.

My child is amazing as always, Very loving and very supportive. He takes his role as the "Man of the House" very seriously, almost too seriously I have to remind him I am the Mom and he's the child, But only every once in a while.

Special Visits...............

Last week I had a very special visit from my Mother In Law, Patti at Treasure Barn Blog, I really enjoyed my time with her and so did Little Man. We first began our visit at my Brother and Sissy in Law's home,which I affectionally call My Safe Place............... I love them so very dearly and they allowed Little Man and I to share their part of the visit, I have lot's of pictures to share with you but havn't been able to down load yet. Stay tuned, this will be fun. Here are some that My Mother in Law sent me ad I am so happy to share with you.

This is my Precious Sissy, whom I Love so dearly, she is the protector of my heart, a true kindred spirit.

This year had been a very hard year to say the least, It has been a time of great transition, a death of an era for me, There are so many emotions to face through a time like this, and I realize I am not the only one to go through a time so trying, but it can be so lonely. I thank God that he is Sovereign and knows exactly why I have to go through this. I look back with amazement really, He chose me........

He chose to deliver me from evil......

He chose me to be the mother of a wonderful child

He had me in mind too when he died for our sins,

and

He gave me the most wonderful and supportive family ever!

So While this year may have been the hardest year in all my life, It has been a year of tremendous growth and a great reminder that the Lord has a plan for me and he truly will never Leave us or forsake us!

The Best Weekend In Forever!

This weekend was the best weekend in what feels like forever............. This has been a year of EXTREME hardship on my little family but we are making it and doing pretty well. I was so blessed as to have my Sweet Sister in Law Mica and her two precious children Maestro and Freckles come and hang out with me. My Handsome 16 yr old hero set up my DVD and entertainment center...............Thank you again Maestro and My little miss freckles and little man played for hour and hours..........Thank you Freckles for loving your cousin so much and making memories you'll have for a lifetime. It was amazing to spend some very close time with my sister, We have always been pretty close, but over the last 2 years The Lord has given me such a sweet and sacred friendship.........I love her with all my heart and I love how she cares for me. Thank you Mica! We had the best conversations and the Lord used her to minister to my heart. She sees me and hears every cry of my heart. I am truly blessed.

I am so thankful for all of my Friends and Family, who have stuck by my side,thru many tears and long phone calls, They have laughed, cried, and been angry, with me all the way through. Thank you all

Little Man and I had a wonderful day....... It started out by us going to church, Little Man chose the set we sang and did a WONDERFUL job of worshiping the Lord with us, I am still so amazed by how wonderful it is to lead worship with my precious little man.

Then we went out to lunch with our awesome church family, which is always a treat...... Then we came home and cleaned the house, What a chore! but we almost finished our to do list. Thank you Lord! The rest we can finish tomorrow.

The icing on the top of our day was sitting down for an art project. I have been "chomping at the bit" so to speak looking for something creative to do that won't require me to unpack my storage unit to uncover my studio supplies..... I will be moving very soon and then I will have my stuff close to me, but until then......What to do???????

Then I was over at my good friend Vicki's blog http://whispersofinspiration.blogspot.com/ hanging out, and I saw her Zentangles, and INSTANTLY was intrigued......... So I went out bought more card stock, ( you really can never have too much) and here is what Little Man and I did............... No Rules just pure fun.

Resistance is Futile!

After a long hot day, Little Man came home and completed his homework and had PB&J dinner with Me, then came bath time, He decided to take a long leisurely bath time in which he played with his titanic model, sang songs and talked continuously about everything.......... A perfect night right?

WRONG!!!!!!!!

My little man got out of the bath and came to hug me while I was on the computer, awww so cute, I reach back to hug him and what do I find?????

DRY HAIR!

I was instantly not happy...... I mean what in the world he only got the top of his hair wet? so I herd him back into the tub, ever so reluctantly I might add, and I spot check the soap bar and what do I find?

A DRY SOAP BAR!

Oh, My Goodness, this kid soaked in a puddle of mud and tried to pull one over on me..... Can you imagine what his Teacher might have thought tomorrow as she passed him..... PEEEEEE UUUUUUUUU!!!!

So I hosed him down and gave him a good scrubbing, now he is all shiny and new!!!! My little stinker is a Pigpen!

Now here is the truth, This kid makes me giggle! he is so funny, he is everything I have ever wanted clean or dirty...... Sometimes it's almost hard to scold him..... He is just too Funny!

He Washes Our Hearts White As Snow.......

A couple of weeks ago, Little Man asked our Pastor if he would baptise him, This is something that he ha really been wanting...... Our Dear Pastor was delighted and it just so happened that he was already baptising another dear young fellow, so he invited us along, and We were to do it at Pirates Cove! How fitting for my little pirate! So I am sharing our pictures.

Little Man never meets a stranger, this little guy was from the church down the beach that was also baptising. Don't they look like they have known each other forever? Brothers in Christ!

Come To My Table Of Love..............

My little man is always hungry at bedtime, Now this has just started the last 2 years or so, and I still think it's a ploy to not go to bed right away, A last ditch effort...... So tonight as usual, Mommy announces "Bedtime" and 2 seconds later he comes to say he is hungry. Sometimes it is annoying, but tonight, I see it as an opportunnity to lavish some love on him. When I turned donwn his request for Chocolate Cookies He then asked for warm milk.......... (UGH!!!! I hate warm milk) but he's asking for it. A light in my head goes off......click! click! (that's my light.... hehe)

and I say:

"COME TO MY TABLE OF LOVE"

Oh! the look on his face, With pure excitment he kept repeating in funny voices....... "My Table Of LOVE!"

A New Phase...........

I am starting a new phase in my life, I am getting my own apartment and will be moving on November 5th, My son and I are so very excited! This has been one tough year but God has not left me nor has he forsaken me! Thank You Lord Jesus! Here is what I am looking forward too.

Independence - I have never lived on my own, so this is really exciting and By God's grace and my hard work I can afford it.

Peace - My own sanctuary..........ah priceless.

My Art - Back to my Art...... I have missed it so much and I really can't wait to see how it will look since I've had so many ups and downs!

Okay, now that I have a few days undermy belt I am really starting to feel better........ I forgot that I really had nothing to lose by trying to rebuild my relationship, Nothing to lose? Are you asking... What in the world is she saying? Well I I lost everything, My home, My husband, My life's routine, My reason................ But everything was restored to me by my Heavenly Father..... Thank you Lord! I can't lose him, SO I have nothing to lose.............

Now on to Christmas.......... I love Christmas so much that come June, I already start listening to Christmas music, It drives everyone at work nuts, That makes it even better! So let's have christmas in July!

HEARTBROKEN...............

The familiar sting of chest pain is back. He and I are not doing so well. He doesn't think we will be happy and his feelings have changed. To be rejected once is pure torure but twice....... is unbeleiveable. I just don't understand. There are so many contradictions, so much left unsaid.

Why are relationships with women so hard? Part 1

My Sister Mica and I were having a lovely conversation the other day on this very subject, We were asking the same questions and as we were discussing this, I got so excited to start writing about on my blogs.... Ladies, What makes us lend ourselve to judgement and caddieness, Now if we are being truly honest we all fall into this at one time or another, so don't be appalled, just sit back and ponder, Why do we look at each other and feel the need to pick each other apart. Why when I don't flat Iron my hair does that one person have to say to me, Girl you need a date with a flat iron! can't a girl have frizzy hair if she wants to.... haha or more seriously what about this: I feel like I have lost a friend since my seperation, I feel like she doesn't want to talk to me anymore, I think of our past conversations and I wonder does she not want to talk to me because while I was going thru the darkest time in my life I turned down her offers to get together, I found myself getting hurt then a little angry like how could she not call me knowing that I have just emotionally died...... Then I find out that she may be going through the very thing that I went thru and it strikes me just how fast my sinful, ugly, always thinking the worst, doomsday mind can trick me into being judgemental.

Here's the deal, Life is really hard..... We are not promised Rainbows and Butterflies, as a matter of fact we are promised trials and tribulations, each and every one of us, and instead of hurting each other we need to build each other up, lend an ear, or a shoulder to cry on....... Always pray...... Forgive and seek forgiveness.

Resist thinking the worst about each other, instead show Grace and Mercy even if it's only in your thoughts.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION AGAIN!

Okay, My blog is going under contruction again. From time to time I am able to enlist the help of my dear family in creating me a fun banner, My Dear Mother inlaw created this one for me which I truly love, But I have been wanting to use bright vibrant colors. So my Precious Wonderful Sister in Law ( when we truly speak of each other we don't use the in law) Mica is creating me a new one. stay tuned......

Alot has changed in my life over the last year and some of my last posts sparked some interesting responses. You can't please everyone right! so just as a highlight here are some of the changes in list form so you will se that I have so so much to talk about.

My mom died sort of unexpectantly August of 2009

I had weight loss surgery

My Marriage failed and I am seperated - recently trying to work it out-VERY HARD

The Stress of the above have taken its toll But God is Good

I am currenlty working in "Women's Ministry" which is an awesome dream.

I have been learning on Leaning on God and putting my WHOLE trust in him.

I have been forced to mature in ways I am shocked, weeding out toxic relationships, Humbly confessing my sins and asking for forgiveness and being forgiven.

So there you have it! I am excited! Let's let the discussions begin!

He Passed Me By........

My world has become a nightmare and I couldn't do anything to stop it. My best friend is not recognizeabe anymore. There is no love, there is no touch. our relationship is as parched as the driest desert. He looks right at me but doesn't see me. He is unmoved by my tears. I have cried an ocean over him and he looks right past it. I know him, I still see him... I feel his every thought, He fights the raw emotion, he cries but it's not over me, How devastating is that.... How hurtful can this get? His anger comes like a burst of a flame, his disgust written all over his face. he wants control but has lost it. He wants respect but I have none.

I have had no choice but to move forward. I still automatically think the best and then I am severly dispointed when there is no "best" or good to be found. There has been so many opportunities where something should have been said, But nothing comes out of that heart. It is not mine anymore. Why am I left hurting. I am pure, untouched I was happy, willing to meet life head on. instead I was cast aside, like my heart was nothing, There has been no real repentance, there as been nothing true.

Will it hurt forever, will I every know why? will I ever recognize him again. Will I ever silence my cry? All I really know is......

He really passed me by.

LOOKING TO HEAVEN

There is so much going on in my little mind. Do you still want to hear about it? Are you ready to know what is in this heart? Can you see me and can you hear me? Am I normal? Are my emotions too much to handle? Do I bother you? Do you only want to know the good? Am I allowed the bad?

How do I do this? Where do I go? Why? Who am I? Did I do something wrong? Is it me? Do I smell? Am I worthy? Will I ever feel loved again? Will I be cherished? Was I ever? Did I ever know you? Do I even know me? Will you protect me? Is this true? What is my purpose? Am I doing what is right?

Am I strong? Can I do this? Are you with me? Am I pretty?

Dear Lord,

I look to you, I surrender it all to you. I am broken, a cracked vessel, mold me and make me true, I give you my life, a living sacrifice, Give me the words to say, that I might Glorify you in all I do and say. Keep my eyes turned to you. Restore unto me the Joy of my salvation. I lay me down. protect me and use me, Teach me and fill me. Protect my child, shield him from the world when I am not with him, Shield him from the outside influences, protect and guard his mind, I praise you and I love you! Thank you for delivering my from my personal Egypt.

Change his heart O God, Save him and forgive him, Let him only desire you. Let there be no bitterness in my heart towards him. Let love abound. Protect my heart, Rule my life.

Hello Everyone, I have been gone too long! So when I started this blog it was with the intention of sharing my art and connecting with artists in the bloggy community, I have done that and met some of the most wonderful people in the world, but this blog has become much more than i could have imagined. It truly has become a journal of Faith, Family, and Friendship. You have shared in my life's ups and downs.

As most of you know my precious Mommy died August 17th 2009. I am still left with a gaping hole that was just for her, but knowing she is in heaven and no longer suffering means everything to me.

Just as I thought life couldn't get worse, it absolutely did, and now I find myself in a really scary place looking at the unknown. I am unable to share details, but what I can share is the Grace of God!

As my life has started to what I call "unravel" God has been right there by my side, everything is really up in the air and I am reminded to "Be still and see the salvation of the Lord" and that he has a plan for me and he will fight my battles..........Now don't get me wrong I have been a HOT MESS of emotions ranging in ANGER, DEPRESSION, OBSESSION AND PURE SORROW. But the Lord thru his word and prayer is changing my heart little by little.

I am now a the point that I don't even want my "Old" life back, because anything less than pure worship in all that I do and all that I am is no longer acceptable.

As I am not sure of what is to come, what I am sure about is that as I seek God in sincerity and truth, I will have the life I want and he will pull me through.

Be encouraged today, for there is someone greater than I and He loves you more!

FIRST PHONE CALL FROM A FRIEND!

I had the wonderful opportunity to capture a huge first in my son's life....... His first phone call from a friend. This was so precious and fun! This child of mine continually blesses me and the rest of his family with pure unadulterated joy!!! His Grandma was here to witness this and we are still laughing at the memory!

I still can't believe that this is my life now, I still can't believe that this all happened. I am one of those that has to say,
" When Momma was alive" or My Mom just passed" and each time I hear myself saying this I am almost over come by the screaming in my head. O God! It is so loud that at times the the only thing that will silence it is something even louder. I feel overcome with emotion that I am totally unequipped to handle, She was my safe place, God gave her to me because only she really understands me and my emotions and the fact that I am not comfortable with being vulnerable at all. It hurts so much that I wouldn't even feel a knife stabbing me.

I can't get the thoughts of her laying there on the floor out of my head, I can see her beautiful hands laying there and even in death they are positioned perfect as if she is laying there like the Lady Of Shallot. The look on her face is peaceful, but I don't feel peace, I want to shake her and scream to everyone "Help her" "Help her" But I don't because I know that the only way to help her is to let her go. The people around me are shattered glass and I am just sitting there, holding my breath, not moving, not feeling, not breathing, but seeing, staring. I go on this way for weeks, months, hours and I get through the acceptable time for grieving and then it time to get back to the grind. I jump in full throttle , thinking this may relieve the pressure. It doesn't, It only intensifies. I am disturbed at how everyone keeps going even though my personal tragedy is right here!

Then it all hits, I take a breath, start moving, start feeling, still breathing, still seeing and still staring, Still hurting. This is my new life living among the hurt, among the pressure, among my tragedy.

This is my precious Mom. She passed away on August 17, 2009, very unexpectedly. My world shattered into little pieces that Summer morning. There was nothing I could do. For so long I have felt so very numb, I cried only once, the night of her funeral. I thought I was going crazy, you can't be as close to my mom and not cry your eyes out! Well Time has brought the flood! my emotions are in a total uproar! I can hardly function. I am so scatter minded that I can not even order a Pizza right. I can hardly manage to breathe.

I know God is with me and I know that She is home in heaven. I know God is in control. I know I will never be the same. Will I even like who I am to become without her? Here is where the Faith comes in. I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me. and so I will get out of bed each day not matter how hard it is, I will go to work even when I feel I have nothing to give, I will feed my family each day.

I will find a way to breathe again.

What can be more wonderful than spending time with those you love? To me, Nothing!! Saturday Little Man and I went to Riley's Farm, in Oak Glen California, We met Our family there. Pattie, Mr. Darling and Mica and Maestro and Freckles! We had a great adventure.

My Own Personal Retreat!

My Dear Momma passed away on August 17th, 2009 and while I know that she is in Heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ, I can't help but to feel sad for my loss and that of my families. The Lord is good and always in control! This last weekend I wen to my Brother and sisters house in beautiful southern California, to what I call my hilly retreat. We had the best time of talking, laughing, cooking, sleeping and resting. My darling sister pampered me and nurtured me and my little babe. I can't wait to return!

We have had an exciting couple of weeks here, Monday June 8th I had my surgery, I was laid up the first week. My Brother and Sister in Law came to visit, and brought some of Donovan's favorite cousins, Then fathers day came and Donovan sang during church with is Kids Chior. So Precious!! then Babe's 40th Birthday! and then Little man is learning how to cook and he made his first dinner.

Okay so Today is day 13, It was a great day! Day 12 on the other hand was a horrible day.

I just got off the phone with my BFF Mother in Law and I feel even better, She is the best Listener/supporter! I am so blessed we share such a bond. We discussed my upcoming diet stage change, for which I am really really excited as it gives me alot more options such as fresh fruits and peanut butter!Anyways we talked about everything! Can you beleive that I have a Mother In Law that I can talk to about anything I mean any thing! She just crackes up when I am funny and scolds me when I am naughty.

Well I hung up feeling 20x better than ever and pumped up!!

Day Six

Hello everyone! Days 4-6 have been harder than the beginning, I am not in as much pain and can move around a little better but I am still very uncomfortable! I have been having a hard time sleeping, Which I am sure will get better once I go back to work!.

The positives are that I am not having terrible cravings, However I am having some, I am craving Grilled Chicken and Tomatoes and Grilled onions! Not too bad right! Monday I will be able to Have pureed food (Grilled Chicken Pureed) so I am totally totally excited!

My Brother and Sis in Law came to visit us today and hang out, This is a wonderful distraction and I am thankful to have them on my side in this fight. They are wonderful support and they love me very much! Or at least that's what they tell me! HAHA!

I am still very thankful that I had this procedure and I am happy to comply with the diet, Tonight was a true test as the family had my favorite Pizza and Garlic Bread, It was pretty hard, I took the advice of a good friend and sucked on a piece of garlic bread, I am sure you agree that is totally un lady like but It took away the craving and I didn't swallow on calorie! This will not be a habit but it helped tonight!

OOOOOH I am feeling much better, I am still really tired and I have slept most of the day, but it alot more peaceful!, I was able to take a shower too! It felt so good! My little guy Brushed and blow dried my hair! He is so wonderful! I am so very thankful! My Darling Mom In Law sent me the most beautiful yellow baby rose bush, It's Alive too! I love it and I have named her sissy!

Well I had my surgery yesterday, I felt pretty good! I was up and around better than I thought I would be. I really hate the pain meds, they make you loopy, It's great to know I won't become an addict! haha

Today I am a whole lot of pain, I went to the ER to make sure I didn't have anything really bad wrong, I am okay, the pain is because the surgery is done so close to my Diaphragm that it makes it extremely hard to breathe. I will keep you all posted, I am still really excited that I chose this!

I am having Weight Loss Surgery!

After many years of struggling with my weight I have decided to have the Lap band surgery to aid in weight loss. I am very happy with the decision and I am confident that I have a great plan and an awesome support system. I have the Best Husband ever and a wonderful son, I have awesome parents and My sister is my Rock! I have my wonderful and awesome Mother in Law, and my brother and sister in-law as well! God has given me an awesome family!

My surgery is scheduled for Monday June 8th.

WE had a Wonderful weekend! Saturday Donovan had his school carnival and he Cub Scout Raingutter Reggata. My precious Neice stayed over and Today my Brother and sister in law came from Las Vegas for a visit! They were here on business and came and spent the day with us. This provided an excellent distration for my precious hubby.

The Lord is Good to us!! We are so blessed with such a caring family!

My Darling Hubby

Well, my poor darling hubby ended up having to go to the hospital On Monday night, He had to be admitted overnight so that he could have round the clock antibiotics. He suffers from chronic cellulitis of the right leg.

When he gets it, he gets it bad. Within 4 hours it went from the size of 2 50 cent pieces together and reached up to his mid calf. The doctors said that we caught it fast this time. Thank the Lord!

Please keep him in your prayers as this medicine make him extremely ill, especially over a long time.

I am so glad that my family has been here to help, I couldn't do it without them, Patti and I talk each night and email all day! I LOVE YOU PATRICIA MARIE KOOSED!!!

My husbands family is very proud of thier Italian heritage, Some more than others. We are pretty conservative about it, We are proud but it's not the focus for us. So you can imagine our reaction when upon learning that Donovan's Principle's name is "Italian" Donovan was so excited!

He loves his principle and tells us that they are pretty "Good Friends". When you ask Donovan What makes them good friends he says "We say hello to each other everyday!" Donovan asked him this week if he liked Justin Timberlake! hahaha! We cracked up!.

Anyways now they have something else to talk about. Donovan was so excited that he said going to talk to him about "us both being Italians!"

I love this kid!!!

He told us this week that he wants to be a pastor and he wants to lead devotions at Daycare sometime!

Today my little boy asked me " Momma, Why do you care about homes so much?" What a precious question, I really do love Homes, I love the colors, wood trim, Windows and the different ways to decorate them, but most of all I love the fact that they represent memories of great "Family Time". Mommies, Daddies and children dwell there and that is what excites me. I am also an artist so I see each home as a canvas, It is interesting what some people do with them. His question really got me thinking and as I drove on to the store today, this is what I realized!.

I love homes so much because I grew up in a rich environment of beautiful architecture! I live in Anaheim, one block west of the historical district! I will be posting pictures soon, but if you can imagine how rich this environment is with, Craftsmen style bungalows, Colonial Revivals, Queen Anne Victorian houses, Spanish Revivals, Adobe revivals. It is a total buffet of Art!. Here is some information I have collected just of the Internet!

This is a Craftsmen Style Bungalow

Unfortunately, many folks know Anaheim only as the home of Disneyland. However, the town has a distinguished architectural history and is one of the earliest and best-preserved collections of Arts & Crafts bungalows in Southern California. Resident Phyllis Mueller gives us this short history of the colony: Anaheim was founded as a colony in 1857 when George Hansen purchased 1,165 acres of land on behalf of the Los Angeles Vineyard Society for the purpose of subdividing the land into vineyards and house lots. Its original boundaries were North, East, South, and West Streets. Anaheim’s wine industry flourished during the early years, but in 1885 the vines were stricken with disease, and the profitable wine industry was destroyed. Soon after, the enterprising colonists recovered by replacing the vineyards with orange groves, lemons, walnuts, and chili peppers. Anaheim’s neighborhoods began to flourish, first with simply built cottages and later more elaborate housing that reflected the Victorian and Queen Ann styles of architecture. Colonial Revival housing was another architectural style built through the turn of the 19th century, followed by the simple austere design of the Mission Revival, which mimicked the California missions, and was best expressed in public buildings. The Arts and Crafts movement took place in the early decades of the 1900s with Prairie-style homes and many Craftsman Bungalows, reflecting a more natural and horizontal design. Many Craftsman Bungalows were constructed in Anaheim during this period. In the 1920s, the Spanish eclectic style of housing, with its tile ornamentation, arches, and courtyards, became popular.
Another Craftsmen

Fewer houses were built is the depression-era 1930s, but the French eclectic and English Tudor style of housing made their appearances, reflecting architectural styles seen by soldiers returning from overseas. In the mid-1930s and 1940s, the Ranch style homes – U or L shaped – were developed in the Colony. Many varied and rich examples of historic architecture can be discovered when walking or driving through the Colony. These structures have an architectural legacy as well as the history of the people who once lived in them. With the goal to preserve, protect and enhance the historic distinction of the Colony, the Anaheim Colony Historic District was established by the City Council on October 21, 1997, 140 years after Anaheim was founded. More than 1,100 structures are on the list of Qualified Historic Structures and are deemed “contributors” to the Historic District. These structures were chosen for the original architectural character of their period of significance and/or for the histories of the people who once lived there. The benefits of forming a historic district are many: In addition to the honor of being in a historic district, it preserves neighborhood integrity, enhances property values, and gives a tangible link to the past, a way to bring meaning to history and to peoples’ lives.

I found this really precious picture of my little boy when he was 2 years old, We had just moved to Las Vegas and he went to his very first Daycare @ Kids R Kids. He loved it here, He is a very social child so anytime he can play with friends his age he is very happy. On day he was playing extra hard and tuckered himself out so he decided to rest..... this picture was taken by his teacher through her laughter! She said when she saw him there he was fast asleep and actually napped there for awhile, One of the others teachers ran and got a camera and took a picture for me.
This is another favorite picture because once again he is fast asleep and look who is with him, none other than "Baby" Herself. she has been his constant companion ever since he came home from the hospital.

The Unique Halloween Swap

Family Reunion! Oh The Pure Joy!

We have been so blessed to be reunited with our Dear Brother and Sister from Washington, An my Wonderful Mother (in law) from Oregon. We really don't consider ourselves in laws because we are truly closer than that, but for the sake of my friends out here I will make the distinction.

Out Of Towners

Boy the last couple of weeks have been fun and CRAZY!!! One weekend my brother and sis in Law came from Las Vegas with my niece and her friend, We had the Best time. We went looking at old Houses in Downtown paradise. and we made homemade Sundaes. We wen to Downtown Disney for the first time! LOVEEEEE ITTTT!

Then the next weekend my other Brother in law moved here from Washington to go to Westminster Seminary! Oh it was such a wonderful reunion! I can hardly put it in to words. We stayed up late and just really enjoyed each others company, Then on Monday Laobor Day we had the Pleaseure of taking him to his new temporary home (until Mica and the Kids join him).

We are so happy to have them back in S. California and look forward to wonderful times together! We are anxiously awaiting the Arrical of My sweet sister in law and and the Kids. I can't wait to snatch those kiddies up for awile and just love on them!

A New Year

I turned 35 on Monday and for the first time in my life I wasn't excited about having a birthday. I can hear this clock ticking so loud now, I am struggling, Struggling with everything I want to be and everything I am not. I tend to do this, for some odd reason I am never really comfortable just being here. Here is actually where I want to be, I just want to be better.

I wish I were a better Christian, housewife, mother, wife, and friend. I have always believed in setting personal goals, Mine are always the same (see above) So I wonder why I never give me a break, My husband, God Love him, says I am wonderful, and that my housekeeping skills are better than ever, but I don't feel like it.

I remember having a long talk with my MIL before I married her son, We always had super long talks, this one was me telling her my dream of being the perfect housewife, it went something like this: " I can not wait to have my own home, with a place for everything and nothing out of place"

Sounds normal and easy right!!! Wrong!!! I am a clutter bug!! through and through so that means I always have books next to me on the couch, next to my bed, Art magazines everywhere, My art corner is cluttered right now!

So as you can tell this is bothering me right now. So this year I have decided to work on this very issue! I will set a schedule, and keep this ship spic and span!

I will pray more and read my bible more.

I will be a better Mommy to my son, which is not hard because I just adore him!

I will be a more attentive wife and strive to anticipate his needs.

I will be a better friend to my self in order to be a better friend to others!

Maybe 35 won't be so bad!

Strength in the Struggle.

This week has started off good, I come face to face daily with the opportunity to have a angry and sad heart and yet I am finding Strength in my Struggle. Could this be me maturing? Does this mean that I will stay faithful not to sin against God and My piers. Oh God My Heart Cries out Please help me stay in this position and help me forgive those that trespass against me. !

I have also not allowed negative thoughts to enter in, Except for a week moment on Sunday, I have remained positive and have not allowed my self to make fun of me. This is big.

Beautifully Broken

I just came back from visiting "In Her Shoes" and I had to come over here and tell you all how this post inspired me. Please make sure you go by and read the last 2 posts, Simply from GOD!

This week has been an exceptionally hard week for me, I found out this week that someone I love deeply has betrayed me and our relationship. This betrayal is founded out of jealousy hurt and anger. This person is actually a wonderful person, but has personal disappointments that cloud or skew the way they relate to the world. I am finding out that it just happens to manifest against me. It has always been in the back of my mind that this person may feel this way, but I always thought that it was fleeting and stemmed from periodic upsets, (as all close relationships have) but its worse than that It is more constant. I have long considered this person a confidant and entrusted them with my deepest vulnerabilities and have now realized that this information has caused this person to feel disappointed in me. I now can look back and see the biting comments and haughty attitude used against me and the saddest thing is I allowed it all along. I allowed myself to be the "victim" of this person.

Surprisingly knowing this does not bring anger and I am not interested in any sort of retaliation or revenge. instead I actually feel really bad for this person, I am fearful of the pain that this person will endure having to learn this lesson that God will have to teach. I leave that all up to him. But I can't help but remember this same behavior coming from me about someone else and I remember how hard that lesson was for me. We all sin against each other at some point, we all judge each other and act unkindly, but some of us learn these lessons quicker than others and then like this person this lesson has to be repeated a couple of times.

I feel so broken about it really and very sad to know it all along. I am also sad or disappointed in my self that I have not stood up for myself more firmly, I have felt compelled to but not at the expense of the others around me. So I will bear it and pray that this person will learn from this and that God will change the heart.

I am so thankful that I have not had a typical "LORI" reaction and that is to strike back with extreme venom and hurt the other person, but instead I have decided to "count it all as Joy" and remain "Beautifully Broken" so that I may be used as a vessel of Honor for the Lord.

A New Blog, Needs a new Name?????????

I have struggled with the idea of creating a new blog solely dedicated to my weight loss journey for a while now, I was concerned that I didn't want it to be negative or be a downer but the more I think about it I am more convinced that this may be a good thing.

I am by nature very happy go lucky, not much stirs my tide. but I am terribly overweight and it has been a struggle, and this struggle can be very dark. I am convinced every thing wrong in my life has a direct correlation to this issue and I am dedicated to overcoming this.

I am warning you now that this is the Darker side of my life because I will be dealing with lots of different emotions and feelings, One thing I cam promise is that all the way through it I will remain steadfast in my faith that My Heavenly Father is in control of my path and that I can only do this with him. You are more than welcome to come by and visit, Please keep me in your prayers.

"OUT OF THE MOUTH THE YOUR HEART SPEAKS " will still be going on strong and will the display the best of my life, I just really feel like It is time to be accountable, to myself and others, and If someone is encouraged to look inward and examine there own struggles, then "To God be the Glory"

Oh The Love and Support of a Sweet Sister in Christ!

A couple of weeks ago I came home to a beautiful package sent to me by non other than my dear friend Jeanenne@ Love Conquers All. It was ornately wrapped and had a beautiful card. my pictures do not do it justice but from the Bottom of my heart I was so very blessed and Thankful for this wonderful thought. This post is really over due and for that I am sorry. I have had a hard couple of weeks but thinking about this has made me feel so happy.

A Mud Bath!

It has been unusually hot here in So. Ca and we have spent most of our time inside, but around 8PM It has cooled off enough to allow Donovan to run through the sprinklers. He is having a ball, The sprinklers in the front yard are the best.

There is a spot that floods a little and gets really muddy, I truly believe that Mud is magnetic because it doesn't matter where we are Donovan is drawn to it. In my Graduation post there is an awesome picture that show Donovan's mud-stache I don't know where he got it but it's in my favorite pic of the day. Anyway look what happened last night!

What a fun evening my little piggy had!

Cub Scout Graduation

This weekend we had Donovan's Cub Scout Graduation he graduated from a Tiger Scout to A Wolf Scout. We had the best time ever He got 4 belt loops and 2 patches. He made a Drum, Made Rope, Made Ice cream in a bag, Played marbles, Played Ultimate Frisbee football, and went on 1 1/2 mile hike and Made a leather project and played Table tennis. There Is A War Going On In Donovan's Room

I am working in my studio, and I hear the sounds of Bombing and flying and Shooting, I hear orders being delivered and Air Crafts flying and I hear Running and jumping and an Occasional peel of laughter.

I decided to investigate and this is what I found, Daddy is Japan and Donovan is America and they are fighting WWII , Donovan has all of his War crafts out and if you look hard enough you can see the stuff being bombed on the ground!

Then at the last minute I hear Daddy say " I want Ice Cream" and Donovan Say's "Me Too" and the war is over!

God Has a Sense of Humor!

I believe God has a sense of humor! I also believe that he understands the times when parents look at their children and remember them from before. Donovan was just getting to the point where he is losing his baby fat, getting taller, articulating better and just growing up and looking more mature and I thought to my self OMGosh! My baby is growing up and I haven't soaked it all in. Then all of a sudden they lose a front tooth, and by the grace of God the next time you look at him he looks littler.

Then the other tooth falls out and WHAM! he looks like a baby again and he even sounds younger because he lisps and his little attitudey comebacks aren't as annoying, because his lisp is in the way!

I sigh a breath of relief because I have a little more time to soak it all up and enjoy him as a Little child longer!

Thank you Lord for this journey of Parenting, Every, every bit of it.

My Favorite Movies...........

One of my favorite movies is My Big Fat Greek Wedding!!!!! I was watching the Food Network show Diner, Drivins, and Dives and they were featuring the cutest little cafe in Seattle call Voula's Offshore Cafe and I fell in love, Not only does the food sound great but the atmosphere is wonderful! It made me think of my one of my favorite movies. I immediatly emailed Mica, Because they live in the Seattle Suburbs and I hope they check it out!

I love Greek Food!!!
Did I mention I love Greek Food!!!! I will be watching this movie this weekend for sure!

I took the Longest nap ever!

Today, after church I came home and It's really hot outside, and the house is cool because we have the air on, and all I wanted to do was take a nap. I tried not to fall asleep but my eyes were so heavy. Then I couldn't wake up and I feel terrible (I have been up for 10 minutes.

Now I have phone calls to make and grocery shopping to do! Blehhhhhhh!

Oh but It did feel good to nap!

Hello Friends,

We send Donovan to school each day to learn but the learning does not stop there, We also do some home Schooling of our own. We are really in to history so we have passed that on to Donovan, We also study our Bible, and the teachings of our Lord and try to live what we are taught.

The reason I chose "Out of the Mouth The hearts speaks is because I truly believe that out of your mouth your heart speaks, So if you have Love you will speak Love, and if you have Hate then so you will speak hate. Our words can be sharper than a 2 edged sword.

I have said Many terrible things in my life, to people and about people, ( I am sure you can all relate) but what is most important to me is what I say Good to and about People. It is my hearts desire to Speak Love, Encouragement and joy from my mouth. This is what I am imparting to my little boy.

I want to share with you a little family project of ours, Donovan and I sat down and wrote 4 Thank you notes each to be sent to some lucky soldiers fighting to keep us safe. I thought Donovan's were so precious I just had to share with you!
The bigger Angel is Gramma Grape, and I quote "Because Momma, Did you know that People that go to heaven become Angels!"
This is him camping and praying under the stars, on his knees with a special cross that sticks in the ground!.

Did you notice the Confederate flag and the American Flag in the first picture, you can see that we are currently studying the Civil War.
